The Progressive Decline Disorder
There is no short way of explaining how I see health. This is why I had to write an entire book called, The Weight is Over | The Links Between Food, Health, & Weight that Your Doctor Hasn't Told You, to explain it. Hopefully you have already read the book, and if not, you can purchase it on this website.
I want to start by saying, The Progressive Decline is not a medically specific diagnosis, instead, it is simply a change in the way you look at your health status. I have created the term Progressive Decline Disorder, and I will try to give you an brief understand of what it is all about. As a practicing physician, I see any amount of patient that present with at least 5 previous diagnoses. A few of the most common diagnoses in America right now are:
I continued to see trends with co-morbidities, or multiple diagnoses. Things like: the majority of Fibromyalgia patients also suffered from Restless Leg Syndrome.
Most that were taking medications for hypertension were also taking statins for high cholesterol.
The vast majority of patients suffering from pre-diabetes also had signs of hypothyroidism.
Of all of these conditions, almost all of them, in every patient was interconnected. Also, there is one very important universal factor that played a part in almost every patient I saw within the spectrum The Progressive Decline Disorder, ALL HAD DIGESTION ISSUES.
So, I study, I do seminars, I frantically scour the world for information of why these diagnoses are all connected, and I come up blank. I start putting pieces together, by taking digestion seminars, hormone balancing seminars, diabetes seminars, and I realize that what I was doing with my Progressive Decline patients was covered in every one of these seminars.
It became pretty clear to me, these common diagnoses do not live individually, they are not unique in nature, they are just a progression of the same disorder. One does not become type II diabetic with a fully functioning thyroid or adrenal gland. One does not develop fibromyalgia without previously having digestive issues, it is only a sliding rule of health.

So How Do I Diagnose The Progressive Decline Disorder? A scale of 0-100...
While pursuing a Doctorate of Chiropractic, I was taught that the majority of your diagnostic decisions should come from the verbal history with a patient. In fact, the gold standard is that 80% of a physician's diagnosis should come from talking to a patient, and then blood work or other diagnostic criteria can be utilized to confirm.
I pride myself on understanding the symptoms that a patient expresses to a level that will bring me to a diagnosis of what is actually causing the elaborate scheme of symptoms that each patient is suffering from. Again, I study symptoms, I track symptoms, and I categorize what body function could be unorganized enough to express a certain symptom.
After compiling a long list of symptoms, I have created a very detailed process of inputting a patient's response to a health questionnaire that will give them feedback on their health in on a scale of 0-100.
As I stated before, The Progressive Decline Disorder is a sliding rule of health. No patient has any specific diagnosis like Hypothyroid or Pre-Diabetes, alternatively, they have a level of health based on a scale of 0-100%. 0 is dead, and 100% is an unobtainable goal. Peak health is around 85-90%. Tri-athletes or extremely health conscious individuals can reach levels of 95%, but it is very difficult. I am comfortable with a health of 85%.
Unfortunately, the average American, who is, overweight, low activity, pre-diabetic, hypothyroid, and hormone imbalanced bares a Health Percentage of 55-60%.
Again, this is a sliding rule of health, you are never stagnant in one setting, also, you can always climb the health ladder. YOU can always improve your health. It will change your life.

So how do I treat The Progressive Decline Disorder? 4-Phase System...
As I continued to study and further critique this amazing research I had fell upon, I also started to critique and design an effective treatment plan.
